Hi everyone,
Yes, I have been a little quite, but what can I say....busy!
I am pleased to announce that some of the footage from the Grand Finals of 2014 is now up and available for viewing. To find them, navigate over to the Contestant link on the menu (which will soon change to accommodate the new contestants, so look out for that) and choose a contestant. Scroll down to the bottom of their page and press play!!
Now, I'll apoligise for the sub-quality audio....I'm still working on that. So let's wait and see what happens in that department. I'm also working on a compilation video for the whole Grand Finals 2014, so stay tuned for that too.

Rising To Another Level

There have been a lot of opportunities and events since the Grand Finals 2014. Since Jan 2015 the STAR contestants have been invited to participate in other major events. STAR has been consistently approached by orgs to work with our contestants, we have constantly been providing external platforms to develop the young artists talents. There have been management and music contracts offers for some; Fashion company experiences, career opportunities and further major talent event invitations. It’s an exciting time which much room for growth & development. STAR 2015 has gone through a new structure and we are ‘Rising to another level’.

2014 Grand Finals
Sunday 10th May 2015
It has been a rewarding journey for STAR; we witnessed a huge major success with the Grand Finals in December 2014! It was a full event with a great turn out by different communities, families, VIP’s, Celebrities, press, media, Mayor of Walsall and much more!!! The young artists all gave amazing performances within music dance and fashion.
The 20 finalists will strut their stuff in front of the panel of judges including: Yonah and Zainam of resurgent 1990s, trio Cleopatra; BBC Great Sewing Bee contestant Jenny Taylor, of Walsall; Celebrity UK hair stylist Desmond Murray, Walsall; Mel Harris Academy director, Walsall; Music Producer Mark Anthony- Walsall & Sinead O’Herlihy of Harvey Nichols- Birmingham. The competition was initially opened from May 2014 to young people between the ages of 13 to 19 covering areas from Walsall, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Dudley Areas. Four boroughs of STAR Youth Talent heats with the crescendo of the grand finals event taking place in December 2014. The continuation of Star Youth Talent included an After Party (red carpet) Concert taking place the next day with the BET performer and global legendary Dawn Penn other local groups along with the Grand Finals winners.
STAR is in the process of hosting the 2015 West Midlands heats and there will be a grand final in July 2015.

2014 Competition

"Aspiring, talented, disadvantaged and disengaged young people from across the Black Country and Birmingham have had the opportunity to access coaching to develop their talent whilst entering the STAR Talent competitions. The competition completed four heats of where 150 young people have participated. We have witnessed the efforts of the some of the most talented teenage singers, dancers and fashion designers in the region.” “This competition is about developing the talents, gifts and aspirations of young people. It’s about giving them the opportunity to showcase their talent and be given the chance to be a star for not just one night but for others to be inspired, boosting their confidence and self-esteem."
